Holmwood

Demolishing the existing homestead, and building a new home was an emotional decision for the owners of “Holmwood”.   The existing home had been on the site since late last century and the family had lived there since 1950, therefore the design of the new home was critical to their peace of mind and conscience.

The new home is constructed on a sheep property with beautiful, established gardens on gently undulating land in Northern Victoria.  The owners had a clear vision of the style of home that would perfectly complement the land contours and their life style, and their new home exceeds their expectations.

The interior layout of the home works perfectly for this couple, with a spacious open plan kitchen and dining area, and large, separate lounge room with 2.4m high, 10 lite glass doors with 10 lite side panels dividing the area.  Also downstairs are two zoned-off bedrooms and a generous bathroom for visiting guests.

Upstairs is totally dedicated to the comfort of the owners, with two king sized bedrooms (one with dormer windows, and the other with a balcony), an extremely generously sized ensuite (also with a dormer window) and a custom designed walk-in robe with ample storage space.

The owners lived on site whilst their home was being constructed and enjoyed the excitement of watching and participating in the process.

"Building a home can undoubtedly be stressful, but the best decision we could have made was to choose Farm Houses of Australia. We now feel we have a home built by "friends". We would have no hesitation recommending them to any aspiring home builder."
